Heating Services for Your Home
When the temperature drops, your heating system becomes one of the most important systems in the house. Proflow provides heating repair, installation, replacement and maintenance for furnaces, boilers, heat pumps and other residential heating systems.
Your heating system has one job that matters most: keep the home comfortable when it’s cold outside.
Heating problems often become noticeable when the system is working hardest—during colder weather, when losing heat is more than an inconvenience.
But “heating” does not describe one single type of equipment. One home may use a forced-air furnace. Another may rely on a boiler and hydronic system. Another may use a heat pump, radiant heating or a combination of systems.
That distinction matters. A house that is not warming properly does not automatically need a furnace repair, and replacing equipment should not be the first conclusion before the actual system and problem are understood.
What is your heating system doing?
The symptom can help narrow down where to begin, although different faults can produce similar behaviour.
No Heat at All
The system does not appear to produce usable heat, or the indoor temperature continues to fall despite a call for heat.
Some Rooms Stay Cold
One area may feel comfortable while bedrooms, lower floors or other parts of the home remain noticeably colder.
System Starts & Stops
Heating equipment may repeatedly cycle, struggle to complete a normal heating cycle or behave differently than usual.
Unusual Noise
New rattling, banging, vibration or other unfamiliar sounds can indicate that the system should be inspected.
Heat Is Weak
The equipment operates but the home takes too long to warm, never reaches the desired temperature or feels less comfortable than before.
Thermostat Doesn’t Respond
Temperature settings and system behaviour do not seem to agree, or the thermostat is not controlling heating as expected.
If you have lost heat and need assistance, contact Proflow. Emergency heating situations can also be routed through our dedicated no-heat service.

Not every home is heated the same way.
Before deciding what service is required, it helps to understand what actually produces and distributes heat in the property.
Furnaces
A furnace heats air and works with a forced-air distribution system to move that heated air through the home.
Boilers
Boilers are associated with hydronic heating systems, where heated water is circulated through the system to deliver heat.
Heat Pumps
Heat pumps transfer heat rather than producing it in the same way as conventional combustion heating equipment, and many systems can provide both heating and cooling.
Radiant & Hydronic Systems
These systems can deliver warmth through floors, radiators, baseboards or other hydronic emitters, depending on how the home is configured.
Furnace Services
From a furnace that suddenly stops heating to planned replacement of aging equipment, Proflow provides dedicated furnace services throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Furnace Repair
Diagnosis and repair when a furnace stops heating properly, behaves unusually or develops an operational problem.
Explore Furnace Repair → 02 / INSTALLFurnace Installation
Professional installation of furnace equipment and the connections required for the heating system.
Explore Installation → 03 / REPLACEFurnace Replacement
Replacement planning for aging, failing or unsuitable furnace equipment.
Explore Replacement → 04 / MAINTAINFurnace Maintenance

Explore Maintenance → 05 / TUNE-UPFurnace Tune-Up
Seasonal furnace service for homeowners preparing their heating equipment for regular use.
Explore Tune-Up →Boiler Services
Boiler problems can affect the wider hydronic heating system. Proflow provides dedicated boiler repair, installation, replacement and maintenance services.
Boiler Repair
Assessment and repair when boiler operation or heating performance is not normal.
Explore Boiler Repair → 02 / INSTALLBoiler Installation
Boiler installation for compatible residential heating applications and hydronic systems.
Explore Installation → 03 / REPLACEBoiler Replacement
Replacement of aging or failing boiler equipment with consideration for the connected heating system.
Explore Replacement → 04 / MAINTAINBoiler Maintenance
Routine boiler service and inspection for existing hydronic heating equipment.
Explore Maintenance →Heat Pump Services
Heat pumps occupy a different place in the home comfort system because many configurations can provide both heating and cooling. That makes equipment selection, operation and maintenance especially important.
If a heat pump is not heating properly, the problem should be assessed within the context of the system rather than assuming it behaves exactly like a furnace or boiler.
Other Ways Homes Stay Warm
Heating can be distributed in several ways. Proflow’s heating structure also covers radiant, hydronic and baseboard systems rather than treating every property as a forced-air home.
Radiant Heating
Heating designed to deliver warmth through heated surfaces rather than relying only on moving warm air.
Radiant Heating →Hydronic Heating
Water-based heating systems that circulate heated water through connected piping and heat emitters.
Hydronic Heating →Baseboard Heating
Service for heating systems using baseboard units to deliver warmth throughout individual spaces.
Baseboard Heating →Repair, maintain or replace?
A heating problem does not automatically mean the equipment needs replacement. The appropriate path depends on what is actually wrong, the condition of the equipment and the wider system.
Repair
When a specific fault can be identified and the existing system remains otherwise serviceable, repair may restore normal operation without replacing the equipment.
Maintain
Heating equipment that is operating normally still benefits from periodic inspection and maintenance, particularly before or during periods of heavier use.
Replace
Replacement may become relevant when equipment is aging, repeatedly failing, substantially damaged or no longer suitable for the property’s heating needs.
The heating equipment is only part of the system.
The thermostat is how the home communicates a demand for heat. A control problem can sometimes resemble an equipment problem, which is why heating diagnosis should consider how the system is being controlled as well as how heat is being produced.
Don’t wait for the first cold night to discover a heating problem.
If the heating system has been sitting through warmer months, the beginning of the heating season is a sensible time to pay attention to how it starts, sounds and heats the home.
Does the system start when heat is requested?
Does the home reach the thermostat setting?
Are some rooms noticeably colder than others?
Are there new noises, smells or unusual operating behaviour?
Has the system required repeated repairs?
Is maintenance overdue before regular winter operation?
Home Heating FAQ
Start with the system and symptom. From there, the appropriate heating service becomes much easier to determine.
What heating systems does Proflow service?
Proflow’s heating services include furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, radiant heating, hydronic heating, baseboard heating and thermostat services.
What should I do if my home suddenly has no heat?
If the indoor temperature is falling because the heating system has stopped working, contact Proflow for assistance. Avoid repeatedly resetting equipment or attempting repairs that require opening or altering heating equipment.
Why is my heating system running but the house is still cold?
Several conditions can produce this symptom. The heating equipment may not be producing enough usable heat, heat may not be distributing properly, controls may not be operating as expected, or the system may have another performance problem. Diagnosis should identify the cause rather than assuming a particular component has failed.
Is a furnace the same as a boiler?
No. A furnace is associated with forced-air heating, while a boiler is associated with hydronic systems that use heated water as part of the heating process.
Can a heat pump heat a home in winter?
Heat pumps are designed to provide heating by transferring heat, and many systems also provide cooling. Actual system performance and suitability depend on the equipment, installation and property.
Should I repair or replace an older heating system?
Age alone does not determine the answer. Equipment condition, type of failure, repair history, performance and the needs of the property should all be considered before deciding whether repair or replacement is appropriate.
When should heating maintenance be scheduled?
Heating maintenance can be particularly useful before periods of heavier seasonal use, but service timing also depends on the type of equipment and its condition.
Can a thermostat cause heating problems?
The thermostat is part of the heating-control system, so a thermostat or control issue can affect when and how the heating equipment responds.
